Why did the sonic's drive ins in indianapolis close? I really liked there food and they were always busy. I literally went to eat there one day in 2005 and the whole place was shut down. A year or so later it was bulldozed and a panda bear express place was built in its place. I'm still bitter over this. And whats worse is no one has any answers! Every single one closed in a 6 month period and no explanation was given. One in greenwood is now rock and roll motors. If anyone can shed some light on this mystery and tell me when the best fast food place in the world is coming back to indy i'd appreciate it.

  1. Huh, I didn't know there were ever Sonics around here, but I've also only lived in Indy since January 2007.

I'm going to guess that they just opened too many restaurants in the area and didn't get enough business at any locations. There is such a thing as expanding a franchise too quickly.

I'm a little sad now...I've never eaten at a Sonic, and it's unfortunate to think that I could have done so if I had moved here a few years ago.

  2. I know its so sad :( But I went to one on washington st and it closed I see commercials on tv for them still but cant find one!
