  1. Be more specific.  If you mean in the US, say so.  If you're asking the reasons for the Holocaust (1933-1945), say so.

Otherwise, you won't get many - or many USEFUL - answers to this question.

  2. The start of the circumstances that led to the mistreatment occurred at the Treaty of Versailles, where Germany lost much in the way of land and capital due to the restrictions placed upon them for their aggression during WWI.

The restrictions of military and some commerce led Germany into its deep depression of the '20's and '30's.

Hitler (half Jewish) had a deep seated hatred against the Jewish people, probably due to some perceived mistreatment while growing up.

My thought is that he came to hate after he was kicked out of a particular art school (which by the way in my mind, he was a very fine artist)

As Hitler rose in power from a foot soldier through the ranks of the n**i party, He needed a scape goat to blame for the ill's of the economy, Step up "national pride", even tho' the Jews had nothing in general to do with what occurred during and after WWI.

The Jewish socio-economic culture weighs heavy on education, and therefore, the Jewish people were in high positions in banking, and other economic controls.

What better way to blame the economy than to blame the educated in a country of mostly backwoods country people...?

  3. 1939-1945 was during the n**i Occupation in Germany. During this time Hitler had become a senator  then later the leader of the n**i occupation. Hitler had a hate for the Jews and passed many laws against them such as they can't go to school, they can't own bikes, and all must wear the Yellow Star of David on the outer most layer of their clothing. This hate started after the depression which not only occurred in America but elsewhere. They want to blame someone or some group and the blame fell upon the Jews. This was the very start of the holocaust.

  4. because hitler had come into power and started attacking them

  5. I think as the concentration camps were discovered throughout Europe, atttitudes towards the Jews changed.  It was no longer acceptable in polite society to criticize Jews because of the gruesome and horrific treatment they endured during the Holocaust.  Interestingly, Dwight Eisenhower ordered that the concentration camps that were uncovered by the allies be recorded (in writing and visually) for posterity because he predicted that at some point in the future some would deny the existence of the Holocaust.  He was a true visionary and humanitarian.

  6. Once the war was started, Hitler felt free to go to extreme measures against the Jews. There were no constraints on his behavior. Prior to the war he would have felt he had to pay some service--lip service, at least--to civilized standards.

  7. Hitler's sick mind got power....he filled the German's Mind with the Arian lies, etc
