Why did these random girls do this?

so my sister and I went to mcdonald with our parents to pick up food, (we were on vacation) I was wearing this sort of shortish dress and im natruallay skinny, so my sister and i were in line and these black girls randomley said (loud enogh so i could hear them) that im really skinny.... and then they continued to stare me down... i didnt pay much attention cause I know how girls are today but when we all went back into the car and were driving off, the same girls were outside with this guy just staring at me.. I of course gave them a dirty look but i find this to be REALLY rude.. i mean.. what was there problem.. i never met them before in my life, and to top things off my sister told me that they were laughing at me... i really dont care if they were but i just think its sooo strange that they would act like that.. i mean these girls were not even pretty...whats the deal?

I'm sorry to say this, but it sounds like they judged you just like you ended up judging them.  True, you weren't rude about at the time, and didn't say anything to their faces.  Everyone judges everybody, it's a sad fact, but that's life.  When people feel threatened that is even more likely to happen.  Just be proud of who you are and don't let people get you down.

Those girls were jealous of you.  When someone is jealous of you, it's because they think you're better than them in some way.  So they assume that YOU think you're better than them, too.  And that ticks them off (even though it's all in their head).  So they do mean things to cut you down a notch, try to take away your confidence so you won't think you're so great.
