  1. They didn't. The people whining that the terms were "changed" are just proving their ignorance of the entire subject.

Global warming refers only to a rise in the Earth's average temperature.  It is a cause, with the effect of producing climate change on a global scale.

The two terms have entirely different meanings, in other words.  One a cause, the other an effect of the cause.  So, the next time you hear one of these so-called skeptics  whining "they changed the name," you'll know just how uneducated these kooks really are!

  2. Well it basically depends on who you are talking to.

Most news outlets will say climate change because, they are practically the same thing, and some may lose viewers who are skeptical of global warming.

They really are the same, because global warming is climate change......

SO, they never really changed it. Same thing, diff term

  3. Because the earth is now cooling instead of warming......so now they call it climate change. Global Cooling will not stop Dems from trying to take your money and freedoms from you.

  4. Because people have wised up to their fraud and lies.  So they thought they could change the name and get away with it..   The people are to smart for their  c**p !!!

  5. It's a case of they tell us that it is getting colder and we have more snow so that in some way proves they were right about global warming.

  6. because 'global cooling' made to much sense

  7. climate change is the more accurate term because some areas may experience cooling. This does not refute the greenhouse effect. Cooling is experienced due to changes in warming oceanic currents etc.

  8. because they dont know what the heck is going on and they want to pin it on mans pollution so that collect carbon tax. basically its socialism scare. do not buy into it.

  9. Because Global Warming wasn't fitting in to what was actually happening anymore.  Who can predict the future anyway?

Listen to this for some perspective on this subject...

  10. Because Al Gore screwed up and now they have to fix it again. You can not predict the unpredictable (WEATHER)

  11. Probably because people automatically thought the whole world was getting hotter, everywhere, when it was the world's average temperature that was rising...  There's also more to it than just temperature.

  12. Because "climate change" covers both "global warming" and "global cooling".

Both of these things have happened since the beginning of time - however, they are now trying to say that it is man-made.

And since the global temperature has been on a steady decline since 1998, they had to change to "climate change" instead of "global warming".

Whatever they call it - it's still bs.

  13. It was warming and now it's cooling. You must have the correct title to have a crisis.

  14. It's to give deniers something to fixate about as they have no real science the refute global warming, and going on about Al Gore all the time gets a bit boring, so what better way to disprove something than to go on about its name.

  15. Because most people don't understand what "Global Warming" is, since it has the word "Warming" in it, they'll think that the whole world will just be warming. When we call it "Global Climate Change", they won't understand what "Climate" is so they'll do research and then understand. Only retards, who haven't read a book in their lives, don't know what global warming is, and global warming is global climate change.

Edit: I also don't think that the Government should collect a carbon tax unless it's properly represented for. They better tell us what the tax collected will be used for.

  16. Bc global warming just sounds bad, or maybe they wanted to sound scientific, even though they probably really arent.

  17. Two reasons:

    1) Because it hasn't gotten any warmer in the past 10 years, and in fact has dropped very slightly.

    2) They want to have it both ways - flood or drought; hot or cold; more storms or less; ice caps melting or freezing over; "climate change" is the all-inclusive one-size-fits-all calamity explanation. That way people will be scared no matter what happens and they can pass ridiculous laws to strip away your freedom, and impose new taxes.

Even though everyone knows that "climate change" has occurred cyclically throughout history.

  18. So that way their butts are covered whether it gets hotter or colder--either way they can say "see i told you so".

In other words, they aren't sure they know what they are talking about, so it's a case of "CYA".

  19. It's a George Bush thing.  It sort of puts a happy face on the extinction of the human race.  Friendlies it up.  Makes it something non-threatening.  That way it can continue on without interference.  BTW, it was "The Greenhouse Effect" before it was Global Warming or climate change, and for a much much longer time than both of those put together.

  20. Who is "they"?

Global warming and climate change are two seperate things.  Humans are causing the planet to warm by emitting greenhouse gases, and the warming of the planet causes its climate to change by doing things like changing precipitation patterns.

One thing causes the other, so people use the terms interchangeably.  The first person to suggest using "climate change" in place of "global warming" was Republican political strategist Frank Luntz, who thought "global warming" sounded scarier.

  21. They changed it because "global warming" was too specific.  "Global climate change" allows them obfuscate the facts.  In other words, you can't whip people up into a fearful frenzy when they are sitting in 8 feet of snow and the alarmists are talking about global warming.  You can turn people into a pile of trembling mush by telling them man is causing global climate change which caused the 8 feet of snow.  Then, you can tax them and take away their freedoms.

AGW alarmism is all about 2 things:  money and power.  If you don't believe me, just ask Algore about his carbon offset company the next time you see him riding around on his bike, err SUV, err private jet.

  22. it may not be warming everwhere - but there are many local areas that have had unusual, extrme weather for the last few years.

i think (not sure) that New Mexico has had more snow , at least in the last year.

  23. Because the climate was not cooperating with their "models". So, they adjusted the models to show "cooling" and changed the name to climate change.
