  1. because tennis is not a real sport!!

  2. I think it has to do with how thick the grass is, and how often they cut it. The grass now is slower but also more durable. Look at some old wimbledon matches, the grass would get worn out  by the end of the tournament. But I agree it is way too slow.

  3. because grass is way cooler and lookes better.. lol

  4. This is to make the game more interesting in order to attract more spectators.  Compare to last time where the surface are faster.  It suits serve-volley time of game style.  Players with booming serve tend to have more advantage.  When a player is trailing, it is pretty impossible for them to come back as the game might finish quickly. Favourite player tend to win more often. As the surface is slowing down, it provides more dramas and opportunity for underdogs players to come back.  Best examples - Gasquest overcome 2 sets deficit over Roddick in last year 5 sets thriller quarter final match.

  5. To make it easier for baseliners, and to make the rallies, and matches, longer, supposedly for the fans.  Another thing they did was use a heavier ball, making play even slower.  I think it was a mistake to make the courts as slow as they are today.  There should be a happy medium.  Grass courts should always encourage people to volley more, but these days it's almost  ill-advised to play serve-and-volley.

  6. How did they change the surface? It's still natural grass as far as I know?
