Why did they change the woman in the new mummy movie??

why did they change the girl in the new mummy movie?????

she was a huge part of part one and two, that I have been really hesitant to even waste my time on part three, simply because Mrs. O'conolle is played by a different woman.

Rachel Weisz didn't reprise her role of Evelyn due to different interests with the screenplay.

Rachel Weisz didn't come back for the third movie because she didn't like the script.  However, Maria Bello is pretty good in the Evelyn role and, surprisingly, the change in actresses doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.  It just looks like Rick's aged better than Evelyn in the ten-plus years (movie time) since The Mummy Returns.
