GH has a bloody good record as a coach.  He has a proven track record and NZ would have made the final if it wasn't for Wayne Barnes' train wreck of a perfomance reffing the S.F.

All I can say I hope Robbie Deans doesn't get snapped up by the Skips, cos lord knows they need him.

They chose Henry over Deans so they could continue their tradition of losing another World Cup... in 2011.

From a non-New Zealander viewpoint (I'm South African), I think it was a good decision.

Henry won 42 out of 48 games which in modern rugby is an extraordinary achievement. To fire him over one game would not have been a good decision. In the interests of consistency and AB development, it was the right move to retain Henry.

Deans is a fanatstic coach though and his time will eventually come.

Becasue Deans spat the dummy way back by coming up with the veiled threat that "if you don'y pick me I'll go to Australia".     He was also late for his interview so what does that tell you.    What employers are going to accept this c**p.   Overall Henry is the better coach.     Finally; remember the Mitchell/Deans fiasco from another RWC.    This AB team may have finished better but the 'performance' of all the coaching staff was an abomination.     Bloody minded arrogance.

Because between the lot of them they couldnt succesfully come up with one brain.  Our rugby is being ruined.  Internationals should be at the top of the tree instead these "know it alls" continue to promote "Super 14".  They are also killing rugby in NZ at a regional level.  I used to watch all the games loved it and now between them and ******** rules I would sooner watch Netball.  Deans would have brought another dimension to the game.  Henry couldnt run Wales or a Lions tour either so where to from here????

If they did not choose Henry the board would have had to resign because of their inept performace. Deans would have hounded them out also if he was chosen as coach. The only way the board members could retain there jobs indefinitely was by appointing Henry. NZ has such a depth of talent that it doesn't really matter who they choose anyway. It takes a really deficient coach and board who have such a talented player pool and tens of millions to burn to stuff up the way they did. Tews and Henry are both master manipulators, they are however destroying the credibility and popularity of NZ rugby.
