  1. Good grief! Judas was not a priest. He was a tax collector for the Roman occupying government. Furthermore, "they" did not hang him. He hanged himself in remorse for the sin of having delivered up innocent blood (the Christ) to the Roman soldiers at the behest of the Jewish authorities in exhange for a few silver shekels.

    Matthew 27: 3When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders. 4"I have sinned," he said, "for I have betrayed innocent blood."
