Why did they have that sheet over the windshield on that greyhound bus in Canada?

I'm looking at the news online. I see the greyhound bus and theres a sheet on the right side. Is there blood or where he threw the guys head down at? I'm confused.

Out of respect. I am sure it was a horrific site inside. Also for anyone nearby and those watching at home. Would you want to see your loved ones blood splattered everywhere.
