  1. It isn't cost effective so now they send out cards for this and post posters up. I read what comes in the mail. Besides, we throw out empty milk cartons and that may be one reason. The cards are smaller and easier to keep . Who wants a smelly milk carton around anyway? Also the Amber alerts have replaced so much of the missing child messages and come up immediately to get to all people , as fast as possible. The news and the internet also keep us up-to-date too. If they have been missing for any length of time, then a professional will sketch what they believe the child or children would look like to day in an enhanced pic.

  2. Probably not as effective anymore. Most people buy gallons of milk nowadays

  3. the cost to them and  .. thay dont care anyway..

  4. People just don't but any milk cartens anymore, only milk jugs.

  5. I have often wondered the same thing.  I know when I walk inside of Walmart I see a lot of missing persons printouts hanging on the board now.  Good question!!

  6. They found it really wasn't helping.  Sorry to say but very few people paid much attention to them.

  7. because these days many people buy gallons of milk and not milk cartons, so its a waste of money to do it if people ain't looking at them anymore.

  8. i wished they keep showing the poor missing kids on the cartons, plus if can help find them safe and well.

so they can bring them back to there family....

  9. The printing probably cost too much, manufacturers need to cut costs wherever they can to maximize profit. I can't say for sure, but it might have been a government sponsored program and the funding just dried up ?

P.S.: They started doing it while gallons were already a staple. Many single people and "light" drinkers still buy cartons. I stand by the printing cost or funding.

  10. it makes for a depressing breakfast
