Why did they take away supersize at Mcdonalds?

I don't know for sure. Probably because a lot of people were ordering super-size, and a lot of people started regretting it when they saw how fat it made them after eating there, then they informed people so that wouldn't happen to them, that way nobody would get fat by super sizing their meal, and size nobody ordered it they probably thought if nobody orders it anymore, why should we keep it on the menu and that's why they take it off the menu.

I believe because they were saying on the news that 90% of Americans who are obese likely choose the supersize meal likely where ever they go.But I still say that its a bunch of bull because this is really a free country!

there was also that movie Super Size Me.

Too many people were wanting to sue fast food places because they were fat from eating too much fatty foods in super-sized meals.

Because there was a documentary made called Super Size Me.  It showed a guy eating nothing but McDonald's for a whole month and his health went down fast.  This was before McDonald's started selling healthier foods like salads.  Shortly after the documentary McDonald's stopped selling super size.

Because people can't handle being responsible for themselves.

People ate like disgusting pigs, and instead of taking responsibility for their OWN actions, they decided to blame McDonalds. A couple lawsuits ensued (seriously-there was a family who sued McDonalds for "making" them overweight)

Then that ridiculous SupersizeMe movie came out, and because of all the bad press McDonalds was recieving, they took the supersize stuff off of the menu, and revamped it with healthier salads and other items. It was good marketing on their part.

I  think because too many people were getting fat and they decided to try and sue McDonald's, so McDonald's said that's it, were taking away supersize, lol. Ok, fine being serious I really just think they had to take it away, just like they took the spicy chicken sandwich away, I really liked that sandwich, lol.

They must have been made aware of all the negative publicity surrounding Supersize Me. You don't really want to eat there ever.

They didn't.  They just downsized it.

Back many years ago, there were 4 french fry sizes.  Small, Medium, Large and Super size.

You got a large fry with the value meal and when you super-sized it, you got a super-size fry.

4 french fry sizes is too many.  So they decided to drop the medium fry.  So you had small, large and super size.  This didn't affect the value meals at all.  The medium size just got lost in the shuffle.  

More recently, in a let's try to be more healthy kind of thing...the brought back the medium size and dropped the super-size.  So with a value meal you a medium size is now the default size, and when you super size you get a large.

Drinks were not affected by this, they have remained the same.

there was a lot of complaints in the media about Mcdonalds trying to encourage people to eat more so keep coming back to Mcdonalds thus earning them a great profit, the critics bad reviews then forced Mcdonalds with no choice but to disintegrate the supersize option.

Did you see Supersize Me? Morgan Spurlock did a great documentary about McDonalds.  After the movie McDonalds changed their menu.  Took Supersized items off the menu.

Because they felt embarrased after the movie super size me came out and they didnt want any thing to do with it so they got rid of it.
