  4. McDonald's was started by the McDonald brothers in California in the early 1950s but was made into a national chain by Ray Kroc, who sold the McDonald brothers their milkshake machines and who bought the business from them.

  5. Ray Kroc visited the small restaurant started by the McDonald brothers. He was amazed by the fast service, high quality, and high standards. Ray Kroc was in the ice cream/milkshake machine business, and he believed that if he could put his machines into the McDonald's restaurant, even make it into a chain, it would be highly successful. The McDonald brothers were hesistant to turn their store into a chain, at first, but eventually Kroc won, and McDonalds is now a world-wide fast food chain.

  6. The Mcdonal brothers dream was a resteraunt so they did, however their dream became that of Ray Kroc. The Mcd's brothers did not see Krocs dream so they sold out to him. Now Krocs dream of a franchise has created a residual income for his family for generations to come.
