Why did this NOT come with a converter????

Question

I got my daughter a dsm951-1g mp3 player. I need to convert our dvds to amv format........and this thing DID not come with that.....for, XP. So......what do we do now???? PAY on the internet .........for one. Yes, we have had it a while now.......but i never did this.....cuz i did...HAVE a converter.Get this .....the manual says pg 43 for technical support.......there is NO...page 43 in this manual. Outstanding!!!!!!!!!
