Daughter: Is it raining?

Dad: I don't know, why?

Daughter: Because there's washing outside.

DAD RUNS OUTSIDE. MOM SITS WATCHING TV. DAUGHTER DOES NOTHING ALSO.

DAD COMES BACK.

Dad:(to daughter) Well, thanks for your help.

Daughter: It's not my washing. It's Mom's, and she didn't help.

Mom: Shut up!

Dad: You knew it was raining, didn't you? But you were awkward and you had to ask if it was raining?

Daughter: I didn't know for sure. I'm not the weathergirl you know. I'm not outside right now!

Dad: It's because you're not used to helping, isn't it? You tried to help but you couldn't quite say it was raining. you turned it into a question.

Daughter: why are you shouting at me! Mom didn't help!

Mom: Shut up! Get upstairs where you belong. You've spoilt out night now.

AND THEN THERE'S MORE SHOUTING!!

So, what do you think?

  1. Sounds like a Big misunderstanding. Parents are crazy trust me. They were just angry that the clothes were wet. You were right about your mom not helping she was just telling you to shut up just because she knew she was wrong too. Give it a few hours it will blow over. Just think soon youll be 18 and can move.

  2. Everyone should have helped. And screaming shut up never really solves anything. I feel like the daughter was in the wrong, but am curious as to why the mom was so lazy? Is she so overworked that she felt like she just neeeded a break regardless? Honestly though, I don't think you should have put this question up here. I don't think any answers you are likely to get will actually make you feel any better. Sometimes screaming is not just the result of bad manners, but frustration. Why do you think everyone was so frustrated, and was there anything you could have done to help? Attitudes are contagious, and everyone could have helped out somehow. I would vote for Dad here.

  3. sad but typical of  the generation

  4. I think if daughter was so concerned about rain and the wash she should have pitched in and helped.

  5. Dad:(to daughter) Well, thanks for your help

this started the whole thing. he assumes too much and he's too sarcastic.

but then again, it could be the daughters fault depending on if she's a frequent liar or not and really did know that it was raining. she could be telling the truth today but you know what happens to kids who crys wolf.

all in all though even if it was the daughters fault it traces right back to mom and dad.

first rule of parenthood... "Everything" is the parents fault.

  6. your dad was hinting to go get the laundry of the clothesline- and you ignored him, then you were a smart *** , so why didn't you go get it? You are in the wrong, but your mom didn't have to tell you to shut up- maybe they are tired of you not doing anything?

  7. i think the father could have been nicer about it instead of shouting and the mom should have taken care of her responsibilities.
