Question:

Why did yahoo bill me for a domain I transferred?

I transferred a domain back in February to GoDaddy, yahoo still sent me an outstanding bill notice in March. Which I replied with both my Primary and Secondary Email, instructing Yahoo to cancel my domain account as it has already been transferred. Needless to say, I got no reply to my email and Yahoo still billed me for a domain they no longer hosted. I finally canceled the domain that yahoo no longer had and removed my card from the billing file just in case. I tried calling the billing number that was attached on my credit card statement and was put on hold for an hour and a half. Anyone else have this problem? Is there another was to contact yahoo? Or do I have to dispute this charge with my credit card provider?

  1. You probably got charged for the web hosting account and not the domain name. You should only be charged once per year for the domain name, but you may have been charged monthly for the yahoo web hosting account.

  2. I would honestly just suck it up and swallow the 10 bucks, personally.
