Here is the email I got

Question: What side of the Texas A&M University in College Station campus louder, the north or the south?

Question Details:

Deleted Answer: This is the HOCKEY section. Next time you ask a question with Texas A&M check which section yahoo wants to put it in. Any question with the character "&" is automatically entered in the Hockey section.

Here was my answer:

Are you kidding me! I was imforming him of a glitch that you guys made and STILL havent fixed yet! And I've seen much more answers in questions that werent hockey related in the hockey section that were worse then what I did. Most of them just said: this is the hockey section. At least I imformed him/her of the glitch that YOU guys made and HAVENT fixed. And one more thing, you deducted me 11 points! I mean come on!

It said that the reason was that it wasnt a question. I already complained so dont worry about that. All I know is that glitch has made me very mad at yahoo and this made me even madder. I would love to call a boycott on yahoo by hockey users considering the crappy way they treat the hockey section and its users.

  1. I wouldn't get too upset, they're only points. You can't do anything with them anyways. But I do understand why you're frustrated, it gets a bit annoying when you get reported for trying to help the guy.

  2. Yeah, Yahoo! sucks.  I got points deducted for writing "English Please.  Is this a hockey question?" in response to some jibberish question.

The reason: not a question or answer

Funny, the second part certainly is a question; probably a question Yahoo should look into.

Oh, here's the answer to your question: because Yahoo! doesn't care about their crappy product.

  3. I was going to say many things about your question but in the end it all comes down to this.

In the overall scheme of a persons,  life the universe and everything, were does the poor judgement and resulting missing 11 points inflicted on you by Yahoo fit in to your time on mother earth.

I fell its important to establish these facts and to also provide them to close family members and friends so that in the event of your early passing they can reflect on how badly Yahoo treated you.

Until that time, the solution is to have a stiff drink and relax. Tomorrow will bring new adventures.

  4. Take heart.  Our old pal Chris once got his answer removed, his account permanently suspended and his Yahoo email account closed.  We never did figure out why.

Around here losing points and having your answer removed is a badge of honor.  Some wingnuts really deserve to be told off don't you think?

  5. To first answer your question, it was because you didn't actually answer the question and probably a so- called "Trusted" reporter got your answer removed.  It has been happening all over the hockey section. If you had said something like "The north side is louder" then informed the asker, it probably would have been OK.

To clarify: My suspicion (can't actually prove it) is that reporter trolls..oops... trusted reporters are coming in from the Suggestion Boards and doing this to us.

  6. Don't sweat it too much. It really is just 11 points. If I complained everytime I got something deleted here then well........let's just say we'd have a full 3 pages of my complaints. =P

But I understand your anger. Yahoo needs to fix this glitch already. I know they know about it already and they've stated theyre 'working on it' but that was like almost 2 weeks ago now. I thought this problem should be fixed already.

In the meantime just sit back and grin and bare it because there's nothing much we can do about it. We've all tried complaining and telling Yahoo the problem; nothing has happened yet.

  7. Yeah, it's not a big deal to get upset about, but it's true that Yahoo was wrong and you were right.
