Why did you disconnect one of my phone lines?

we had A uverse installed and they disconnected my other telephone line

U-verse operates with RF signals over the telephone line.  They probably unplugged one extension to plug the U-verse modem into.  They should have installed a splitter.  Another thing which could have happened was that the installer put cheap DSL filters on your phones that only supports one phone line (2 wire instead of 4).  Try bypassing the DSL filters to see if you get your connection back.  Either way, since the installer did it, you should contact support and have them come out and fix it for you for free.  Call them at 1-800-288-2020.
