Why didn't Australia have any competitors in weightlifting events?

Australia has two competitors in the weightlifting.

Deborah Lovely finished 8th in the Women's over 75 kg.

Damon Kelly is yet to compete but will on the 18th/19th in the Men's Over 105 kg.

We Did. Deb Lovely from Ipswich was in it but Channel 7 in their infinite wisdom didn't bother showing any of it. She should have lifted in the pool and we would have seen it a hundred times.

We only have 2 weightlifters who qualified out of a possible 10 places per country. Not sure why there are only 2 lifters, maybe the others did not qualify.

Deborah Lovely finished eighth in the women's +75kg division.

Damon Kelly is scheduled to lift on Aug 19 2008.
