He was quick to criticize Russia for moving into South Ossetia, but why did he let Israel off the hook for killing innocents in Beirut lebanon? Is this a double standard?

  1. They are TRUE friends, share their ups and downs together,..lol...sounds g*y..yes, it is Double Standard. No standard at all!!

  2. Because he thought Lee-ba-non was the capital of Mongolia.

  3. He'd lose friends.

    Double standard.

  4. It probably has something to do with Israel getting owned by Hezbollah.

  5. I think you meant 2006. It is in 2006 that Israel made its huge offensive against Lebanon using the prohibited cluster bombs against civilians; demolishing most of its infra structure...  Definitely there is no clear answer that relies on logic or ethics, nor human rights.

As to double standards, it is not, it is rather multiple standards.

  6. In politic, all are about benefit. When there is a conflict of benefit, the decision would based on the maximum benefit.

Supporting Israel and Georgia would give U.S. maximum benefit. So the standard is unchanged!!

  7. Because Hezbollah rebels attacked and killed Israeli soldiers on Israeli soil.  Georgia did nothing.  Get the difference?  Probably not.

"The conflict began when Hezbollah militants fired rockets at Israeli border towns as a diversion for an anti-tank missile attack on two armored Humvees patrolling the Israeli side of the border fence.[20] Of the seven Israeli soldiers in the two jeeps, two were wounded, three were killed, and two were captured and taken to Lebanon"
