  1. Don't think Hendrick isn't asking himself that question EVERY day - or at least every Sunday now.  He made a HUGE mistake on that decision.  Keeping Mears over Busch?  Yep, ol' Rick just plain missed that one.

  2. They thought that Kyle might spit Kool-Aid on some of Ricks Peeps, after every race he won.

  3. He should have kept Mears and Busch and never signed Junior.

  4. Casey Mears wasnt with HMS when Kyle drove for HMS. Cant get rid of something you didnt have yet.

  5. Because Busch wasn't competitive last year. And Hendrick is looking at getting rid of Mears at the end of this year.

  6. Kyle Busch wasnt what they wanted their team to look like and be percieved as. Gordon and Johnson and Mears are just the 'Good ol' Boys' and Kyle doesnt fit in that, and now they are getting rid of Mears or as Mears and his people are saying he isnt returning, but they wanted to keep their perceived notion that they are the good guys and Kyle Busch didnt have that attitude like them, whereas Junior does and Mears does but Mears cant stay on the same level of racing as them.

  7. Hendrick is not very smart, otherwise he never would have signed Mears in the beginning. That guy is trash. Kyle is doing great right now and that must eat at his soul knowing he got rid of the guy who has the best shot to be the 2008 champ at this point and time.

  8. they blamed it on his attitude

  9. I think that should be obvious by now. I am sure the 5 team appreciates not having to rebuild the car every monday. Kyle is good no doubt and is certainly a much differant style of driver than anyone else at HMS. I was thinking that JGR was given a few extra cars because they signed Kyle. LOL jk... I believe Rick kept the right guy and maybe now it is time for Casey to move on. I like his attitude and personality and believe he will succeed where ever he goes and because of his attitude will always have friends at HMS, where as Kyle was shunned which I also believe is part of his drive to dominate this year. He certainly was impressive this past weekend and got lucky when the caution came out as I again believe he would have ended up rearranging tires had he not caught that break. HMS made the right decision. Period...

  10. great answer winter..you said it best.....nothing i can add

..i am a Jr and Kyle fan as others in the mix too.....

  11. With Busch and Hendrick---There was bad blood in the air and it was just not a good fit.

That would be like going ot work and not liking your job (Kyle liking driving for Hendrick)

I think that Dale Jr. is a good fit at Hendrick and Busch is a good fit at Gibbs.  See it worked out well and both are doing well  & having fun (happy) this year.

You can't really enjoy your job unless your happy.

  12. They hated him too.

  13. It was all about the contracts,  from the unofficial reports I have seen, it was "cheaper" for Rick to get rid of Kyle than it was to drop Casey.

  14. man the differences in levels of nascar knowledge in this set of answers is amazing.  kyle and casey both drove for HMS last year - kyle in the #5 and casey in the #25. as for kyle not being successful in the #5 last year, he did only finish fifth overall in the points, up five from his tenth place finish overall the year before. casey finished, who knows where - it wasn't in the top twelve so who cares...

as for why hendrick didn't keep him - ask him. i doubt he's crying in his beer at night, at least not to the point that kyle might want him to, but i'm sure he feels a bit of seller's remorse.  but overall, it was the best thing that could have happened probably for both kyle and junior.  junior got out of having to deal with all the hassle involved in driving for a being a part of DEI. kyle got out from under the wings of some greats and has been allowed to fly on his own, and more importantly on his own terms...

  15. Kyle may have driven a Hendrick car, but he was never a "Hendrick driver" he stuck out over there like Yao Ming in a classroom of kindergarteners.

There was a serious personality clash, Rick likes his drivers to be reserved, Kyle is anything but. And Rick just couldn't handle Kyle's attitude anymore..

*Yes, I'm aware that Kyle has an attitude*

  16. Because Shrub is from ''SIN CITY'' and Rick don't play all that

  17. He just didn't have the same clean cut, fan friendly image as the other three. Not that that should be the only thing to go on. I think that there was some internal struggles also, if you remember after the Pepsi 400 last year, Busch kinda talked c**p about Gordon, saying he helped Jamie and not him. I think that was the last straw for Mr. Hendrick. Mark Martin has that same fan friendly aura about him also, so if that's the direction he goes it will be a good fit for his team.

Ya Smokey, Mears and Busch were together last year with HMS. You can get rid of what you do have. Nice try though.

  18. because Kyle kept peeing in his fire suit
