But now that Toyota is winning, they get their HP cut??? What gives?? Did Jr and Gordon complain that much?

  1. Dang dude, get yourself informed. The NATIONWIDE TOYOTAS got hit not the Sprint cup cars.

The engines were checked last year when Toyota sucked. Toyota actually had a slight lead in power even then when they couldn't win. This is common knowledge for anyone who keeps up with Nascar.

Read and educate yourself before ranting.

  2. Horespower?  Hores should never be given power IMHO.

  3. i think they shouldn't race different car makers all should have the same engines and all equipment should be same made by same manufacture and its not Toyota's that have more hp they don't make the engine's it's kyle's engin shop and his body shop

  4. Good question....very good question

    Now remember two things:

    1. Toyota was new, so the first judgment always was and would be that they were off pace...Naturally, being a new team you simply can't expect to jump to the top quickly

    2. Mind you, it was 3 brands and 4 organizations on equal terms with good horsepower and one that was not...These three were first of, well-established and successful for a very long time..Hendrick, Roush, RCR, and Evernham.

This year, however, Toyota apparently has horsepower that surpassess all the teams and gives them a little edge over everybody else. Cutting horsepower makes the competition pretty equal and creates a little bit more exciting races. I surely don't like Kyle Busch winning all the races. I think there should be some change there.

And no, I don't believe Jr. and Gordon convinced NASCAR to do this.

  5. Actually it was Jack Rousch that complained enough to get it done.  Gordon actually said he didn't think Toyota had an HP advantage and felt his car was great in regards to HP.  Oh yeah, And a HUGE part of it was the People that can't stand that Kyle Busch is winning alot crying foul to in attempts to end the winning streak.   Funny thing is, The only test I've seen with all the numbers released said that Dodge was only 4Hp below yota.....who wast still quite a bit ahead of Chevy and Ford.   why wasn't Dodges name mentioned as being significantly higher than the others?   Probably because Kyle Busch doesn't drive a Dodge.

  6. Yeah,now this is a good question....Jeff gordon is a cry baby!!!!!

  7. Toyota had very poor drivers last year. Their cars were getting just as much HP as the other makes, but this year all that has changed with JGR joining Toyota. Last year HMS won half of the races (18 of 36) because they had tested more than the other teams that never thought NASCAR would go to the COT. In NASCAR if you like a particular make, just wait and things will change. Toyota leads in wins this year. Kyle Busch has more wins that Chevy, Ford, or Dodge.

  8. Because this is America. We invented V8 Hot Rod's, Rock n Roll, Harley-Davidson's, Stock Car Racing and the Atom Bomb.

  9. All the old chevy boys got their panties in a wad.  I read that ford had 611 HP chevy 612 Dodge 628 and Toyota like 634. It seems pretty simple to me do what toyota doing increase HP

THere is no excuse for Chevy to be that far behind Toytal let alone Dodge

And why hit all the Toyota teams its just the Gibbs team that making the most out of the HP only one other has won a race

    ITs BULL

  10. When exactly are you talking about was there a time when Chevy had too much horsepower? If you are referring to last year then Hendrick was the one with the advantage. Not Chevy....

    Hendrick had a testing advantage.

    1) They were ahead with the 7-post shaker

    2) They were testing on non-nascar approved tracks when most every other team wasn't

    3) they were testing with non-nascar approved tires when everyone else wasn't

If Chevy had a horsepower advantage then I never heard of it. I also do not have any access to any of last year's dyno tests so I really couldn't help you any more than I have tried to.

  11. I think you are confused. It's the Nationwide series where Toyota has been restricted on their horsepower. It was actually Jack Rousch that did the majority of the complaining. Gordon does not race Nationwide, and Jr. very seldom.
