That was his best year statistically. He took the bulls farther than MJ ever did.

  1. because mj wasnt playing.  they had a solid playoff team, they just didnt have the closer.

  2. I believe the Rockets won that year...in which case all you need to do is watch old tapes of the Dream.

  3. it's been debated, a lot of people believe hue hollins' foul call on scottie pippen is what stopped the bulls from advancing. plus hue hollins' whether true or not was suppose to have a sore spot for pippen. neither liked each other at all. hue took offense to pippen feeling that hue had it out for him.

here are the details from wikipedia:

    1994 NBA Playoffs

Described as the most controversial moment of Hollins’ career by Referee magazine, Hollins was one of the referees assigned to officiate Game 5 of the 1994 NBA Playoffs series between the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks.[2] With 2.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Knicks' Hubert Davis attempted a 23-foot shot which was defended by the Bulls' Scottie Pippen.[3] Pippen was called for a personal foul by Hollins, who determined that Pippen made contact with Davis.[3] Televison replays indicated that contact was made after Davis had released the ball.[3] Davis successfully made both free throw attempts to assist in the Knicks victory, 87-86, and gave the Knicks a three to two games advantage in the series.[3] Hollins defended the call after the game saying, "I saw Scottie make contact with his shooting motion. I'm positive there was contact on the shot."[3] Darell Garretson, the league's supervisor of officials and who also officiated in the game, agreed with Hollins and issued a statement, "The perception is that referees should put their whistles in their pockets in the last minutes. But it all comes down to what is sufficient contact. There's an old, old adage that refs don't make those calls in the last seconds. Obviously, you hope you don't make a call that will decide a game. But the call was within the context of how we had been calling them all game."[3] Garretson later changed his stance of the call the next season. Speaking to a Chicago Tribune reporter, Garretson described Hollins' call as "terrible".[2] Chicago head coach Phil Jackson, upset over the outcome of the game, was fined US$10,000 for comparing the loss to the gold medal game controversy at the 1972 Summer Olympics.[4]

    hope it helps.

  4. In Game 5, Scottie Pippen received one of the most unfavorable calls in playoff history by referee Hue Hollins when he was called for a foul on Knicks' rookie Hubert Davis, that allowed Davis to go to the line and win the game.  If you are a real Bulls fan, you'll remember the call.  I was cheering for the Knicks in that series, and even I admitted the Bulls got hosed.  The Bulls should have won that series.  I believe that would have defeated Indiana in the finals. They owned them in the regular season and the Knicks handled the Pacers.  I don't think they had any chance of beating the Rockets in the finals without Jordan, but I do believe they could have got there without Jordan.

If only Mj was thier...maybe he would have gotten the call...since MJ was cottled by the ref's..
