Why didn't President Bush go to the GOP convention?

His wife made a lame excuse, that he had been planning on attending yesterday but due to the hurricane that didn't work out so he didn't fly out today. Uhhhh...that was the case for everyone but everyone else flew out today instead, so why did he ditch it?
