Why didn't Thompson take care of the Cauliflower Ear before the fight?

In the fight Thompson got hit by Kimbo slice and his Cauliflower Ear started bleeding like crazy. why didnt he fix his ear before the fight, Can it be removed(fixed)?

He should have fixed it, but it takes a long time to repair the damage, minimum 10 days, but it is a condition that can flare up time and again once the initial damage is done. I'm actually surprised they let him fight with it.

it can't be fixed, it is a permanent condition, there are things which can be done to make it less promenent but those will have no effect on how much it bleeds, you can have plastic surgery to make it look nearly normal, but then it would be very fragile and easily damaged, which is why no one does it during their career(and most consider it a badge of honor so they don't do it at all ever). so to answer you main question he didn't do anything because there was nothing which could be done.

Cauliflower ear is a condition where the cartilage in the ear gets slightly torn again and again. When the cartilage heals up each time it gets bigger and bigger. There is surgery that can be done where the excess can be cut out and the ears will look half way normal. People who think of this as a badge of honor do not have this condition bad enough to where it makes them deaf and do not  realize that the right punch or grab can end up taking off their ear. Both situations are bad. Getting it fixed is something that needs to be done before the condition gets as bad as Thompsons. Oh well," lead a horse to water...........
