Why didn't anyone tell me not to drink the water in Mexico?

HotDog, thanks for the info but it's a little late. The toilet looks like a slaughterhouse and don't even get me started on the chafing. I think Mexican toilet paper is made from toenails and 40 grit sandpaper.

Everyone in Mexico drinks bottled water, and EVERY hotel, even tiny cheap ones has bottled water in the hotel rooms  Sorry, you did not get the messagel.  Go to , or send someone to a pharmacy.  Buy OXAL and lomotil.  The OXAL has 2 tabs in the box.  Take one right away and one 24 hrs later.  Take one lomotil after each bathroom trip up to 6 pills a day.  Have the person going to the pharmacy also buy some vaseline and better t.p.  Resorts and restaurants use bottled water in their kitchens and for ice.

I thought that everyone knew not to drink tap water in Mexico. Even the best hotels may not have reliable filtering systems. We all drink bottled water and use purified ice. There are other reasons why you get the trots on a vacation...too many Margaritas, late nights, exhaustion. Be careful taking too much anti-diarrhea medicine, over use can turn your bowels to cement.

Mexico's water is some of the highest quality water in the world.

Maybe you just have a really weak system!

It's common knowledge that you "DON'T DRINK THE WATER" or EAT SALAD in MEXICO!  The water, even in the resorts, is not up to normal standards.  The "REVENGE" will subside, but see the local Doctor's for immediate treatment if you can!

I BET YOU STAYED IN A CHEAP HOTEL, OR ATE OFF THE STREET, SO DONT BLAME THE WATER OR THE BATHROOM, NEXT TIME STAY IN A FIVE STAR HOTEL OH AND BY THE WAY, THEY SELL TOILET PAPER AT WLL MART ACAPULCO, SO STOP COMPLAINING NEXT TIME STAY AT AFIRST CLASS HOTEL I DO THAT AND NEVER GOTTEN SICK
