  1. Because it hasn't been sent yet.

  2. Most direct deposits have been deposited.  Those that are still being deposited are the returns that were filed late.

Alot of people thought they were getting a direct deposit rebate when they are really getting a paper check.  This is especially true if you used a third party preparer like TurboTax, H&R BLock, Jackson Hewitt or some of the other tax preparation offices or software.  If you used your refund to pay fees to your tax preparer you are getting a paper check.  Check out some of the other questions and answers on this site.

  3. Well when did you file?  Do you qualify for a stimulus rebate?  What is the last two digits of your SSN.  Check IRS website:  www.irs.gov   "wheres my stimulus"  have a copy of your tax return so you can input some info from your return into the calculator and the results: the amount you qualify for and the date to expect the rebate.

  4. I haven't received mine yet, but I did get a letter earlier this week explaining that I need to "do nothing" and it will be here shortly.  Don't know if it will be mailed or direct deposit as I used Turbo Tax. Regardless, it will surely come in handy.

  5. A lot of people have thought they were getting direct deposit but for whatever reason aren't, so are assuming they'll get it earlier than they really are.  For example, if you had a tax prep place do your return and had your fees taken out of your refund, you aren’t eligible for direct deposit.

Check your bank statement from when the original refund came - if it says "US Treasury" you should be OK for direct deposit as long as that account is still open, and you didn’t split your refund into multiple accounts. Otherwise, you’ll get a paper check

Since the first round of direct deposits is done, it sounds likely that you'll be getting a paper check.

The other possibility is that you filed too late for your return to be processed by the 4/15 cutoff to make the first round of stimulus payments
