Why didn't i get paid today?

Question

i get paid by direct deposit on fridays. last week was my last day for the company, I was scheduled for my last paycheck today. i checked my bank account, empty.

ive called them and left a message in whoever was responsible for paychecks. the reception lady just told me there may be been some delays at the banks. but I dont buy it, ive worked for this company for over a year, never have Ive been paid late.

this is a very large security company i worked for, its weird they'd s***w me over for around $400, thats how much they owe me.

the reason is why. I returned all my uniforms on my last day, I was never caught sleeping on the job, and thats it. what other reason is there

They might have mailed it instead being your last check.  Big companies do that.

They CAN NOT with hold your pay from you for ANY reason....even if you owed them money.  it is ILLEAGAL to with hold pay.  PERIOD....no exeptions.  You worked those hours, you get your pay for them.

Maybe there is something going on just because of you leaveing so something in the system got thrown off, or they have to issue you a check instead of direct deposit, or are mailing it to you,  but, if they are with holding your pay  you could file charges against them.

There could be a bank issue, or maybe the company mailed you your last check.  That's what happened with the last job I left.  At any rate, you're entitled to the money you earned from working there.  If you can't get an answer from them and you don't have your paycheck in another couple of weeks, you might have to take legal action.

it really might be a bank problem or and accident on there side so they blammed the bank, wait to see if you dont get something today :)

at my work, you always pick up your last paycheck in an envelope from HR.  I have direct deposit too, but if I were to quit, I would have to physically pick up my last paycheck.

Maybe they take some time transfering the money... Or just making sure that u don't have to pay anything form before.

Sometimes banks do experience issues.  Wait it out. Don't jump to conclusions unless you know there is a definite problem. If they give you hassle over time you can report them to the authorities.

They may have had to prepare your check manually this week since you were termed, or the bank could have had a problem...just be patient.  The whole world isn't out to get you.

Usually some company dont have that extra paycheck cause they pay you on the same week but if it is like you work one week and get paid for it the next then it shouldve been there. Also since you are no longer workingfor them possibly they cut it off the payroll too soon.  I would go there in person and pick it up. If they do not then i would go to the Dept of Labor and get information how to complain. And some companies wont do it direct deposit they will have it in check form.

I suggest waiting a couple days if you can. There truly may be a delay with the banking system. If the money doesn't show up within a couple days, call back.
