Why didn't my radishes get a ball on the root??

They look like one skinny root? It is the weirdest thing...

  1. Radishes really don't like heat, so if you are having really hot weather that are just not growing. A lot of water may help. It is highly unlikely that your soil needs fertilizer -- radishes don;t need much.

    My best advice is to wait till cooler weather and try again.


  2. They love water...........and good soft loose dirt.........but the water and sun are the answer

  3. Plant foods are all labled with an NPK.

    this is the 3 numbers you see on the bottle like 30-30-30

    You need more Phosphorous (its the middle number)

  4. Needs more water, but not too much or else they'll crack.  That and you probably tried pulling them up too soon.

  5. Really hot weather will cause the radishes to bolt and send up tall stalks without forming a  radish.  Your best bet is to wait until the weather cools and plant some more.  Most radishes mature in twenty something days so you have plenty of time to grow more.

  6. You may have the white radishes and they grow long and skinny. If you have the red ones it may be too hot and not enough water.
