Didn't neanderthal man have small clans that they would stick to?

With such a small pool of individuals, wouldn't there be a lot of inbreeding? wouldn't that cause lots of deformities?

  1. Their anatomical and physical structures are more less complex than ours, so there would be less shuffling of genes, thus they do share a lot of similarities.

And being with small population, there would be so much different genes to share to. Look at the humans today! I mean we are so large and diverse, that genes get mixed so much, making such unique set of genes. Unlike them, they are not really so much diversed.

    Hope I helped you a lot! :D
