Why give any of it back?

In 1910, they had the whole bloody lot, until one day during WWI there was a rebellion and they had to promise to hold a referendum... I wold have called a wartime revolt treason and never held the referendum... I'd like to drink a Guinness in Dublin where they fly the Union Jack

  1. Sure, and it's clear, darlin' all the young boys had got tired of the british soldiers' "attentions" and we routed the beggars out with their tails between their hind legs.

OTHERS: don't be so hard on her, she's clearly british, so how would she know any better? Their education system is pathetic. Poor, dwindling saps.. >sigh<

  2. ya dumbo the 1916 rising we got away from the likes of you and we don't fly the union jack  wake up and smell the Coffey honey

  3. because they hated Ireland and were treating us horribly and being very raciest. They didn't give Ireland back The Irish had to fight for it.

    Geeeeeeessssshhhhhhhh learn some history.

  4. That's not even what happened.  And they don't fly the union flag in Dublin

  5. it's ignorant scumbags like you that have the world in the state it's in at the moment, if you want to drink a toast to the union Jack.. why don't you do it in Basra,? or Kabul,? or Fallujah? I guarantee you'd be much more welcome there than you would be here after a statement like that..

now run back to drawing your cartoons and leave the rest of us in peace

  6. 1910 God your really are stupid. The civil war was in 1916. The poor British where to exhausted from the ww1 so we made sure we got them out .

  7. colonialism had gone out of fashion, and it had become a bleeding wound to them at a time they could ill afford such.

  8. you obviously don't know about history.. if your spouting that much rubbish... do your research properly.

by the way its the UNION flag.. the JACK bit is on when its used on a boat.. the post its on.. but then again i'm not suprised you don't know even that.

  9. Because we the irish brought the british empire to its knees and gave other colonies the hope that one small country can stand up to a tyranical empire and win. There was no way the british could keep a hand in ireland as every person was a soilder, every person was a spy against the british, imagine a whole country is against your occuping troups thats an army you can never defeat. thats whats happening to the british in iraq at the moment.

You know nothing of history, We bet the british empire into submission, had her on the ropes and we did it as a nation.

The USA did a number on the british after WW2 forcing them to hand over the other colonies. To me its hypocritical to say that the british won world war 2 and defeated n**i occupied europe when they had done the exact same to ireland and the other colonies for hundreds of years. All the serious world conflicts can be attributed to britan, Africa, the kashmere conflict between india and pakistan and of course northern ireland.

I like the fact that it will be a cold day in h**l before you will drink Guinness in dublin under a union flag, a flag that has been the symbol of occupation since its inception, similar to the n**i swastica.

Treson is null an void if you declare war on your occupier, the irish people did not recognise the crown in ireland.  you dumb sasnach i bet if you were alive then you would have been a tan

  10. What's all that rubbish??!!?? ;-p

  11. Irish wanted to be independent, it's their right.

Plus, the Irish population in the US was more and more influential... The US would have never accepted that situation ad the UK would have been forced, sooner or later, to accept the independence or Ireland.

  12. you speak such rubbish go and read your history books and don't let a true Irish man hear you say that about the Guinness, you won't find a good Guinness there , ca us it probably wont be pulled by an Irish man.

  13. the United Kingdom is a dying concept anyway, do you seriously think that Scotland and Wales will not be independant in 20 years time, max.?

Im English but I dont support the union and think all the constituent countries of the UK should become independant but closely linked. It's the way forward, and in any case it is what will most likely happen.

I think a better question is not why we didnt keep all of Ireland but why we continue to occupy part of it!

  14. Because britain knew that the irish would keep fighting until they got the majority of freedom for the country
