it's not like any other team was going to offer him 200 million again.

  1. 200 millie isnt worth it ;)

  2. Well he is one of the greatest players ever and better than manny ramirez who is looking to make the same amount of money just fewer years

  3. cause the yankees need a-rod on their team. they have enough money. 200 mil aint nothin to them. the wanted to make sure no one else can buy him out

  4. The Yankees needed him. They are moving into a new stadium next season, with big prices for tickets and suites. They needed stars to sell those items.

Plus, the Yankees have a huge investment in a television network. They need to be good to make it work.

    And A-Rod knew all that.

  5. Well Arod is a Yankee and  he is

  6. Right. And nobody would be insane enough to give Andruw Jones $18.5MIL a year. The Yankees signed Rodriguez because they had a gaping hole at 3rd base.

What you should be wondering is that why after all the melodrama Rodriguez re-upped with the Yankees. The answer to that question is because they were willing to give him $30MIL a year and, if you compare his numbers to Fat Andruw's, that amount isn't so outrageous.
