  1. supreme court has a lot to do with it

  2. clinton did a good job with welfare reform and abortion isn't going anywhere but it will stop to be a form of birth control

  3. Because in case you didn't know it, it takes CONGRESS to do these things, they veto stuff that you want done and you don't even know where to look for the activities of congress or you wouldn't be asking this question

  4. These are constitutional matters and it would have to involve the judiciary to abolish them. There is not much Republicans can do outside of appointing far-right federal judges and hoping a trial regarding the matters comes before them.

  5. Do you know anything about checks and balances in the US Government?  I am pretty sure this is taught in junior high school.

  6. Republicans don't want to abolish welfare.  They DID however reform it in the 90s (and Clinton signed it into law)

  7. because they knew it couldn't be done

  8. Since they had such full control, they no longer had to pretend to care about these issues in order to w***e for votes anymore.

  9. I know, right? There are thousands of people who vote based on those issues alone! Those things will never change. It would be like me voting to take away gun rights. Not going to happen. Stop handing your vote to money hungry republicans, people!

  10. Bush had a Republican congress for about 6 years and did NOTHING.  I understand no ability to overturn Roe Vs. Wade without Supreme Court but there are other ways to implement SOME coercive action - exec. office sponsored programs, referendums, even PR campaigns to make a point as President & he did none of this for you with Abortion or Welfare.  You give up your vote with nothing in return & you are cool with that???  Oh - they did start a war and treat our troops lives frivolously - they care about them as much as they care about you - not at all. Your vote is a means to an end, they lie to get it & move on.

    WAKE UP.

  11. has to be a courtcase that goes to the supreme court

  12. Because the Dems want to give all our hard earn "CHANGE" to others!

  13. The president does not have unlimited power.  To abolish abortion and welfare would either take a bill in Congress (which the majority party is Democrat) or a Supreme Court decision that these practices are unconstitutional.  Luckily for the citizens of this country, a new president can't just waltz in and arbitrarily change everything up.  Political "promises" are more pandering or, at best, pledges that this is what the candidate will work towards.  This goes for BOTH sides.

  14. The Republicans only pre-tend to care about the issues when all they are about is taking $$$ out of our pockets.

High food price, almost $5 a gallon gas, health care cost so high most people can not afford it.

McCain/McMansions and his Botox Barbie have gotten so rich they don't even know how many houses they have.
