  1. Nessarose (East) didn't know that her sister Elphaba (West) had put that much power in the shoes. All she knew was the shoes allowed her to walk when she had been crippled her entire life. Also, the Wizard and his press secretary Madame Morrible, who has magical control over the weather, used Nessarose's death as a trap to capture Elphaba. Glinda gave them the idea because she was mad.

You should see the musical Wicked. It explains everything that happened in Oz before Dorothy dropped in.

Also, in the book Glinda enchanted them so she could walk as well, but she had no arms, which makes moving out of the way of a falling building difficult.

  2. The Ruby Slippers weren't magical until Glinda the good witch enchanted them onto Dorothys' feet. Though if you read the book "Wicked- the Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West",  the Ruby Slippers were custom made by Glinda for the East Witch in order to help her walk with normalcy. They didn't have the power to take Dorothy or anyone back to Kansas until they were put on her feet. Besides, the East Witch WAS at home, so where would the slippers have taken her?

  3. Good question i guess she did not think about it.

  4. Maybe she was paralyzed in fear seeing a house flying toward her  and forgot that she was wearing the ruby slippers

I know if a house was about to fall on me i don't think i could click my heels together 3 times or move out of the way.

  5. I would say she was tormenting the munchkins and didn't notice the house falling from the sky...I mean, really, how likely are you to be looking up when tormenting midgets?

  6. Because the shoes weren't really hers.  Only Dorothy could really use the shoes for their intended purpose I believe.  No, I've never thought about that before but you do have a point, huh?  Happy Haunting!

  7. i dunno. maybe she was busy terrorizing her pack of flying monkeys or something and the house came outta nowhere and she didn't have time to.

  8. lol good question, why did the witch of the west have a bucket of water lying around her castle?  Seriously makes you wonder how suicidal evil witches really are...

  9. What the heck does this have to do with Halloween?

  10. She was too busy enjoying her newfound mobility and obsessing over Munchkins.
