  1. The gas tax relief that you are referring to is a joke that would result in very little savings for the common person.  The few cents you save on federal taxes would mean an increased budget deficit that will have to be paid for in the future.  There is also no guarantee that the savings would be passed onto the consumer as gas station owners could easily raise their own prices the same amount of the missing taxes, in order to make up for lost profits

  2. The gas problem, is the value of the dollar.

Printing more money to give away, only devalues the dollar more. So temporary relief would be felt with greater long term pain.

I hate taxes. I love the idea of giving money back - or even better never taking it in the first place. However with 10 Trillion in debt, you must reduce the size (cost) of government WHILE taxing to help solve things.

  3. coz they are a******s

  4. Because the Dems said lowering taxes is hocus-pocus

  5. The liberal led congress wouldn't even let the issue come to the floor for a vote. That way they can't be blamed for voting against it.

  6. because the dems lied and we died (at the gas pump)

i know i know it does not have quite the same ring to it

  7. Ask the Speaker of the House.  Nancy Pelosi stop it.

  8. Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats blocked any bill from going to a vote on Friday because they were afraid it would actually pass. If that happened, gas prices might start to lower and they (the Democrats) couldn't use that as a campaign issue against McCain and the Republicans this November.

Bottom line -- Pelosi and The Democrats are why you're paying high prices right now at the pump. They chose politics over the American public.

    Go McCain!
