  1. It's not that I didn't want children, it's just that I didn't find and marry the right guy in my prime child-bearing years.  Call me chicken, but I didn't relish the thought of having my body split open, either!  Besides, my maternal instinct was satisfied by my career as an educator, so my biological clock wasn't ticking too loudly.

    When I did meet my Mr. Right, he'd had a vasectomy and that was fine by me.  After helping to raise his son, more children weren't feasible for us. We now enjoy a great life and have more time (and money) to spend together doing the things we enjoy.  It may sound selfish, but it's they way things worked out for us and we're quite content.  I don't regret a thing.


  2. I was 15, no regrets. Kids are a huge expense and responsibility. Too much stress to me.

  4. 1. Children do NOT ensure companionship, health or care in old age.

    2. There are enough people on this Earth.

    6. Children (including myself) have a difficult time leaving home at 18 years old.

    13. Children are destructive... whatever they break, I have to replace.

    14. The high chance of living paycheck to paycheck does not sound like fun to me!

    15. Toys are RIDICULOUSLY annoying!!!

    16. College education costs thousands of dollars and increases each year!

    17. Schools are unable to discipline children and any bad behaviour can and WILL be exposed to the child.

    18. Sleep deprivation anyone?

    20. Need a Baby sitter everytime we want to go out??

    21. Carrying on an adult conversation with someone with most kids is pretty difficult... CONSTANT interruptions.

    22. Spending time with friends becomes increasingly difficult and I may even lose touch with those friends.

    23. Hobbies are a difficult thing to maintain when children are involved as well.

    24. Children will scream, cry and yell constantly when they are young, stressing patience and destroying peace with their noise. As teenagers they will blast music (or worse, make it) with the same effect.

    25. Teenagers are typically abusive, rude, sullen and uncontrollable.

    26. I will have no privacy

    27. The things I treasure may be lost, stolen, or destroyed by the children

    28. I will be constantly exposed to aggravating, mindless child-oriented entertainment such as cartoons, kiddie videos and music.

    29. Nagging children to get them to do things (I should know cause you have to nag me too!) will drive me crazy

    32. Sami (my gf) and I will fight about child-raising practices.

    33. Studies show that childless marriages are HAPPIER than marriages that include children!

    34. Because sami is religious, I will be forced to attend religious practices that I do not wish to attend to!

    35. The economy is horrible, good homes are becoming unaffordable, taxes are increasing, oil is highly limited, good jobs are hard to come by etc.

    36. Smell...children smell, I can't stand the smell of diapers and I simply can't stand the general smell of a house with kids in it!

  5. i wanted to be young and carefree. and only responsible for myself. didnt work out, i have a 6 year old, but i couldnt be happier about it!
