  1. well they are working on the roof so maybe they could put in lights but its grass so the later it gets the more dew as if the slightest bit of rain occurred you could be sliding around the place! But richard gasquet when he was playing andy murray said he couldn't see the ball and they refused to let them stop.(!)(but andy was up at the time!!!!!!!!so you know??!!):)

    Hope i helped!

  2. yep, england r way behind australia, just like cricket, betta catch up wit us pommies

  3. Shadow, also it has been difficult to recreate natural light over a relatively large area.

If you go from having an uncovered natural lit court to having one with lights then you change the way you would see the ball.

Also the fact it is in a rel;atively small area lights of yesteryear would cast unwanted shadows. Modern lighting can diffuse the light much better.

  4. No offense to Federer, but the lights thing is just a whiny excuse.  He has played numerous evening matches at Wimbledon on centre court before and won them.  Last year he beat Safin in an evening match on centre court.  All of a sudden he lost for the first time in over 40 matches at Wimbledon and the lights became his excuse.  How many times did he complain about the bad lighting when he won on that court?

  5. They don't have lights because when it gets dark the court get's slippery from dew anyway.

Although I personally think some lights would be great for finishing off a game like Federer's and Nadal's.

Nadal admitted that the light would have influenced the match, and Roger said it affected him. For matches like this they really need lights at Wimbledon.

  6. and a roof

this is a great court and should give the fans the best tennis.

the Brits are dogged by rain every year
