  1. RATM do not want the BBC getting money for their performances, and want to make their forthcoming tour all the more special for the people going.

They were awesome at Reading, but nowhere near what they were cracked up to be. Music was just not loud enough, such a shame

    x*x

  2. They wouldn't allow the BBC to film it I heard.  I think the same happened at T in the Park, they wouldn't broad cast the show?  It could be because of  how they were mis-quoted as saying Bush should be assassinated when they really said that he should be put on trial for war crimes?   From their reunion gig in USA last year?  I'm pretty sure Zach mentioned that at the Reading show.  Also the BBC may worry viewers will all go out and start a riot or a protest or something.....Shame it weren't televised tho as I like to watch the gig after I've experienced it!!!!!  Hopefully a DVD will emerge :)

  3. Probably because they wanted to get high ratings so showed the acts that would get the most viewers - i.e. those who have hits in the top 10 at the moment.

  4. Nothing to do with the bbc or popularity, Rage have asked not to be recorded for tv on their current uk tour. Probably means they'll have a DVD out i guess

  5. The band aren't letting any broadcaster show highlights on their current tour, although they haven't said why. It could be because they want to release a DVD themselves, or it could be because they're worried about their performances being censored. Or they could be just being contrary.

It's a real shame though - RATM's political message needs to be heard more than ever in 2008, but the band are restricting who gets to hear it by not letting their festival slots be televised.

  6. Most people who were interested in rage would have been at the festival I suppose - BBC must have thought that people at home wouldn't have bothered watching it because they aren't a new and "popular" band in the eyes of most of the public =(.

It sucks though - I was there and I want to watch it again, but I'm limited to crappy mobile phone recordings on youtube...

  7. the bbc are notorious about not giving any coverage whatsoever to any hard rock or heavy metal acts. it was the same when metallica played at live earth. the bbc cut away halfway through their four song set.
