  1. most likely cause they didnt find a deal where they felt that what they got was worth more than what they would have to give up to get it


  2. My best guess is that John Mozeliak was too incompetent to even make a simple trade for a relief pitcher. It kind of makes you miss Walt Jocketty, doesn't it? Mulder could be used in relief after he returns in a couple weeks, but even if he somehow stays healthy, he likely won't be very effective.
