Why didnt we win gold medals in the Olympics ?what happened to athletes like Karam Gaber ?

we used to get Gold , Silver , and Bronze medals in Olympics .

so far, we had one Bronze Medal .

Why ?

i have to say something, we shouldn't feel that bad.

there are countries who are counted more than billion, and still earned only 2 medals like india, and countries like Germany, UK, France, Israel (didnt earn any medal at all), Canada, and they are not in the top 10 countries in medal counting. and they don't feel bad. (some might in the top 10 but with few gold medals 5 or so)

we feel bad because we have nothing else to feel proud or good about. they don't because they have a big national developmental project for the whole nation in many fields (research, education, health, military, industry, economy, art creativity) so they take it easy, because their youth raise the flag in other fields.

only major forces put a big fuss on it like US, China, Russia just to affirm its political power.

but if i m still going to answer your question, simply because we don't plan to. olympic athletes are people who are dedicated to an extensive training and diet program for years, not few months. and they do this well in China, and in the US through athletes scholarships programs, we don't do both strategies. and what we achieve is a result of the self efforts of the players in persistence and dedications. however after they score the medal they tend to worry about the media talk and give less focus for the next olympics.

another problem is a socio-cultural one, we tend dedicate our sons and daughters to earn college degrees and work hard in the school, and as i mentioned earlier there are no atheletes scholarship programms. and this contradicts our desire to achaive more medals.

20 gold 37 silver and some 20 bronze so be realistic and think of what is the priorities of governments

we didn't use to win anything , we won by chance , we have no system and WE SUCK .

because MR.Hassan Sakr the minister of sports are busy by his battle with mortada mansour,and he had no time for sports activities,also he is busy with his new bylaw that he isists to improve it in egypt by force

Because the government and the country don't spend money on sports. Countries like USA, China and Russia spend on its players and that's why they top the charts with USA having 65 medals total. Also, people in Egypt can't find places to train. It costs a lot of money to join a club and so it won't be available to all the people.

do you know that gold medals equal one million pound how don't want them but when karm get his gold they discount about half the price between taxes and some other issues i don't know what the heck are it

Agree with the eye Doctor.... When the Egyptian players won before... it was by chance and luck and effort too..... but you can never trust the system of anything in Egypt.... And I would like to say Hard luck to everyone there.. because they did what they can...... the Egyptian system of sports is not supporting them as other countries do......
