Why do 10-12% of Americans STILL believe Obama is Muslim?

I hope this percentage is wrong. I read an article claiming up to 12 % of Americans believe Obama is a (secret) Muslim despite there being NO evidence whatsoever to support this!

Who's still spreading this ridiculous rumor?

I do not know if he is a secret Muslim, but I doubt that he had any religion until he met his wife.  But one thing I do know is, he does not tell the truth very often, and to have remained for twenty years in that church where Wright screamed out ugly racist remarks almost daily, does not speak so well for Obamarama.

People believe what they want to believe. Common sense should tell them, hey, the guy says he's not Muslim and he was outed big time by a radical Pastor who resided over a Christian church. Besides what's so bad about being Muslim, it's no different from any other false Religion.

Because Bush's, I mean McCain's supporters keep spreading versions of it to take attention away from real issues facing America.  This is the third election in which they have used the same type of diversionary tactics.  When you have spent 8 years creating a mess and don't know how to clean it up, you divert attention from your failures.
