More than 31,000 scientists across the United States, including more

than

9,000 Ph.D.s in fields including atmospheric science, climatology,

Earth

science, environment and dozens of other specialties, have signed a

petition rejecting "global warming," the assumption that the human

production of greenhouse gases is damaging Earth's climate.

  1. There must be tens of millions of Americans who are elligible to sign this!

31000 is a very low number!

  2. Because they've uncovered the truth about the big lies of that nutcase liberal fat porker hypocrite, Al Gore, who needs to undergo a mental exam to see if he's even stable enough to face civil or criminal charges.

I hope that McCain, if he gets elected can be reasoned with and will not become involved with this false agenda, promoted by counterfeit Americans.

What a ridiculous answer and a desperate attempt to save face by Cyrus, below! That reply is truly laughable and it belongs in the Jokes and Riddles section!

  3. Global warming has happen in the past to the earth

    .. . ...

It the earth has also cooled off to the point that a glacier reaching form the north pole to mid America occurred

    .. .. .

The earth has cycles it goes threw in its past 4.5 billion year life

    .. .. ..

Mars lost its polar caps just with in the last 5 years

    .. ... ..

Does that mean that there is pollution in the atmosphere

    .. ... ...

The earths orbit is not circular, round, all the time it is elliptical, egg shape, for a time then changing back to circular

    .. .. ..

This chang in orbit geometry takes 100's of thousands of years to occur

    .. ... ..

When in the circular orbit as we are now the earth temperature is stable as the seasons pass

    .. ... ..

But when the elliptical orbit is present the winter can be extreme in low temperature because the distance from the sun is 1/4 more than in the circular orbit

    .. ...

And the close orbit of the elliptical orbit is 1/8 closer than the circular orbit

    Which causes higher prematures

All with in the same year with the earth has its elliptical orbit

  4. VERY impressive!!

Now let's see...... Al Gore's atmospheric science expertise comes from his.....uh...er....JOURNALISM and DIVINITY education........ makes sense to me.....NOT!

  5. I'm glad you included the statement about global warming not being caused by greenhouse gasses.

Climate change IS real. It has ALWAYS been a fact of life on planet Earth and it is cyclical.

We are currently in a general warming phase.

That isn't necessarily a bad thing. The last "mini ice age" from about the year 1200 through the mid 1800's was a time when life was tough. Humanity survives better when the climate is WARM.

Al Gore is a nut case - or he is a greedy alarmist and opportunist that plans to increase his personal power and wealth with specious arguments designed to create panic.

He has done mankind a service though. Public attention to impending change may give us a heads up on the need to plan for changes in living conditions.

We may not be able to change the climate, but we would be very foolish if we don't plan to change our way of life to best survive that change. - i.e., don't live in Bangladesh.

  6. You should learn to be a little more skeptical.

Please list the "scientists" from this list with Ph.D's in atmospheric physics or climatology.  If you could come up with 20 from that list of 9000, I'd be shocked.

This is nothing but a repackaging on a new web-site of the long ago discredited Oregon Petition (OISM). There is no quality control or verification of qualifications for any name on the list. And they've used documented deceptive methods to trick people into signing their list.

    Edit:

BB - I'm still waiting for the list of Ph.D's in atmospheric Physics or Climatology. That requires names (for fact-checking and all), not detached numbers that can't possibly be verified and almost certainly contain fictitious names.  Remember, there's no quality control in this propaganda web-site.

  7. It's really depends on who they're working for.  That goes both way with the global warming scientists and the ones that reject the theory.

  8. Well. It's only a theory, hasn't been proven yet. Climate change is something that happens naturally anyway, like the Ice Age for example.

  9. 31,000 scientists and 9,000 Ph.D.s sounds like a lot but its a very very low percentage of the scientific community as a whole. and Ph.D doesnt mean they have studied anything concerning global climate.

  10. Why do 10 Million scientists know that Global warming is caused by people.

The 31,000 minority work mainly for fossil fuel en ergy companies or get hugh grants from the fossil fuel industry.

  11. There were 40 climatologists on the list. This means that for 10 years trying the best they can they got 40 climatologists to sign, which constitutes about 1/10th of 1% of the total signatures.

According to the criteria of the list, I would easily qualify. I have a BS general science, plus 4 years of post graduate education. I have taken literally dozens of classes in chemistry and biology.... and oh yes! I took a college level class on oceanography once.

Let me be the first one to tell you that I learned absolutely NOTHING about global warming in any of these classes. Yet I would be able to sign the petition. And someone would say that I was one of the "scientists" who signed. HAHAHA!!!!

But hey, I probably qualify more than the 290 or so metalurgists they got to sign ;-)

  12. When Al Gore can find a way to stop the oceans (the largest contributor of gasses) from producing CO2, then he may be on to something. Maybe he can vaporize the oceans to stop it all together.

Humans only contribute 2% of CO2 to the planet, so I think we should be able to sleep OK at night and end the hysteria.

It's all political, folks, and it has everything to do with us paying taxes for the rest of the world, thanks to the UN.

By the way, it isn't 'warm' where I live right now, we've had a pretty cold and miserably wet Spring, so where's the warming?

  13. The Fact is the amount of CO2 or greenhouse gases released to the Atmosphere is maily due to natural cause Like Volcono, forest Fire and so on there are so many cause for it and what I have read in the book, is more than 96 or 98% of CO2 will be released through Nautral cause. Only 2 to 4% is by human activities.

So this may be the reason. But still the 2 - 4% is an imblance in nature.

I think this will answers your Question

And all the Geological process througout the histroy of earth is very slow may be million of years shoud go on to happen something like this.

  14. We should be skeptical about "scientists" who predict climate future based on computer models. People are trying to play God by saying, 'Oh, this computer model told me 50 years from now that this IS going to happen.' That's an arguable point. and I think we should question it. But to say that someone has absolute knowledge of the future seems to me to be playing something more than a mortal.

  15. The problem is we don't understand the climate enough. We cant predict the weather correctly most of the time but we are suppose to believe we can predict the climate 50 years from now.

  16. I agree that many people are still figuring out their opinions on global warming. Personally i think it is a natural climate cycle but weathermen/climatologists can't even figure out what will happen on monday 50% of the time. I think that the government and college system have become too buddy-buddy when it comes to science, everything that is studied recommends that they need more money and more studies to actual come up with a theory. The need to put everything into a war or battle against something raises the alarm factor causing everyday Americans and others to dig deeper to fix this problem that will " kill us all within 20 years." The alarm and fear placed in the non-educated or non-science based people of the world causes them to fear the unknown. I think 31000 scientists have given science the chance to think for itself rather than just jumping into the most popular theme of the day. I'm proud to be one the 31000 scientists who would rather study the subject before taking the taxpayers of the world to the cleaners for an ill proven hypothesis.
