Why do 90% of the people on Yahoo! Answers not know how to spell?!?

I just do not understand why so many people on here spell things wrong so frequently even when a spell check tool is provided for them.

I think that the education system is to blame.  I can't believe how people don't know the distinction between their, there and and they're.  And I can't stand the holiday announcements that are marked the Smith's instead of the Smiths.  People don't understand their grammar either.

The answer to your question is just a simple LOGIC. They do it to make their work faster and easier.

I think it's not that they don't know how to spell it,their just lazy to type the whole word,some could be typographical errors or maybe too lazy to check the right spelling and the rest could be they don't know how to spell it correctly. Anyway, no body's perfect so it's not a big deal to everybody.

they can't be stuffed to change it if they've done it wrong. Its not like half the people on here really care about their spelling when theyre supposed to be answerin and helping not being english teachers etc. And yeah, hu dusn't use msn?? Its short and neat =)

yeah they know how to spell but can't be bothered to spell properly and its also called abbreviations and stuff...you know like you might use on msn.

I think it's to do with the idea that in this age of information and quick solutions, something so 'academic' as spelling and grammar don't truly aid in the search for information.  

And I think the younger generation (MY generation, sadly) are even to the point of thinking it SHOULDN'T get in the way of lightning-fast information and communication.

It does bother me a lot. Teens don't really care if they spell something wrong. My younger brother and his friends think it's weird that I put a period at the end and capitalize the first word.
