Why do ANSWERERS get so ANGRY and RUDE?? WHY They RUIN it for OTHERS?

I've just started from b4 with my X-boyfriend and it's such a pain when people have different opinions, politically, environmentally. THey're downright INSULTING and Rude. I feel like it's true, ppl will report/censor u if you don't agree! Like a WAR or something? Why do you think they react this way? Ruin this place?

Aren't we supposed to exchange ideas? Learn?

Some people think it is great fun to be jerks to people they don't even know. I think some are being mean just for the fun of it, they are trolls. I am glad YA at least gives you the choice of giving a thumbs down to such people and it tightening the controls on people who report for the wrong reasons.

I agree, some of these peeps need a TIME-OUT in the naughty corner!  Anger management, somethin'  just cool yr jets dude! lol  

I know, it's not funny how some use this place.  Some seem to look at it from 'gamers' view, all about points.  Others are just like a friend of mine when he gets in the drivers seat he becomes a maniac, his car becomes a tank and he's out to kill.  a War, like you said.  A power trip.  You can almost picture them spitting expletives at their monitor...anyway, try not to let it get to you.  It's an exercise in diplomacy and considering the sources are sometimes on meds or something else, you cannot take them seriously. Haters.

All jokes aside, I think it's a cop-out for some people. They can be as rude as they want without fear of being reprimanded or slapped.

ignorance i say. some people just have to be right and refuse to take into account other peoples opinions and suggestions. they're the kind of people this world needs less of. the reason there is war and famine, and dictators ruling countries. the reason g**s are not accepted, and women stil cannot live like the men in some countries. it starts of small, but think about it, the examples given are all ignorant like some of the answerers on here! some probably just get enjoyment out of it, with their immaturity!

Some people are really passionate about their views and might not realize that they are being rude.  

Others feel safety behind the screen and think that it gives them license to behave in a way that they wouldn't behave in person.  

Still others are just rude in general.

I agree that it is annoying but just ignore them.

If they are reporting you for a valid reason such as you are violating the rules, then they're not being rude.

People have different personalities as you know and this forum is an open one and if someone enters a question on here they need to be prepared for all kinds of answers and insults.  Things that are negative should not be taken personally because that person doesn't even know you.  This is anonymous communication.  If someone gives information that helps then that's good for the questioner.  Report those that you feel need to be reported and don't let the hating people stop you from taking advantage of the site.

some people just have strong opinions and take it overboard. they should go to a forum or at least Rant and Raves section on craigslist and not here lol

but you are right.. i have no idea why.. sometimes people are jus bored so they give others dumb answers and some people just gets angry at a person they don't even know and they don't realize they're helping much. =) good question though
