  1. Not all.  My friend, who is black, does not smell like cocoa butter.  She doesn't stink she just don't smell like cocoa butter.

I'm white and I guess I smelled like Cocoa butter for a while when I used cocoa butter soap.  d**n, I need to get some of that.

  2. Why don't you just ask the next Black person who smells like cocoa butter?

  3. i LOVE TO use my COCOA BUTTER. I'm black so yeah. Cocoa Butter is kind of popular around blacks and makes dark skin look healthy and smooth.

  4. coca butter? i might of had you pegged for sniffing glue but not so much with inhaling oil of olay

  5. It's better to smell like Cocoa butter than to smell like boiled bologna wouldn't you agree.

  6. I'm African American & don't smell like it. But if I did, I'd take it as a compliment.

  7. Cocoa butter is good stuff, really. Cocoa butter is commonly used among some blacks as a moisturizer. Other people use it too but it's kind of a cultural "secret" and it works *very* well. It evens skin tone. Some people believe that it may help reduce the appearance of blemishes such as stretch marks, and doctors still recommend it to pregnant women. Besides that it's full of antioxidants. I've heard enough white people remark on how smooth black women's skin is and how well black women age. And, while it does have a distinctive smell, that smell is hardly unpleasant, in fact it's rather light, sweet and chocolaty. If you ask me, this old "beauty secret" is on to something good. Perhaps other people should try it some time.

Researchers in Japan even found that it contains a high amount of CMP (cocoa mass polyphenol) which may inhibit the growth of cancerous cells and tumors by reducing active oxygen levels in the body. Food for thought:

  8. They don't. However, you might be experiencing what I experienced when I was a kid. I noticed my friends of different races (Asian, Black, Hispanic, etc) had different smells and their homes smelled distinctly different (NOT B.O.). I found out recently that humans give off a bit of a odor on their skin based on food... and assuming they ate food that was consistent with their culture frequently, many of those people would smell similar. (There is a term for this but I don't remember what it is)

However, now I can't tell the difference because you get used to it. You smell too but you already get used to it as you grow up, etc.

  9. Cocoa Butter?  I didn't know that

  10. That's a mighty nice description for the smell of rotten coconuts and day-old chitlins.  What did cocoa butter do to you?  Apologize!

  11. They do?
