Why do Americans allow continuing political dysfunction that negatively impacts their lives?

Its not technically the base system that is the problem. The problem is the corruption among the people in the system. Our founding fathers gave us the greatest system of government ever devised. However over the years it has been tinkered with and corrupted buy those within it that seek power or to quench their greed.

The first and most important way we could improve the system is elect people of upstanding morals and intelligence. Officials who would be honest, hard working, and have persevearance and not be power hungry. Real selfless leaders that will do what is good for the people and not themselves.

Secondly we need to get the system back to what it was in the begiining without all the beauracratic red tape and wastefulness.

Because the media spreads fear and lies to tell anyone that change will bring terrorism and make us less safe. And like sheep the American public has a short memory. Do you remember the REPUBLICANS spent forty million dollars to find out if Bill Clinton got had his  d**k sucked . and MADE  him stop going after Bin Laden  remember . SO because they were so uptight and full of hate . Bin Laden was able to regroup , reorganized Al Quaida and attack the U.S with the underlying help from the REPUBLICAN party .

yep electing bush in 2000 sure screwed up a lot of lives world wide.  Oh wait Gore won he election and Brother Jeb and the state of Florida somehow hi-jacked the election.  Yeah i see how you can say we have a dysfunctional political system.  I wonder if Mccain is going to find a way to hijack the election this year and start world war 3 next year??
