well, I think so many are apathetic and others are brainwashed by propagandized media they listen to.

Not all Americans agree with their government by any means but I am shocked that more people are not out protesting.  Still. antiwar demonstrations draw hundreds of thousands of Americans very unhappy with what the government is doing in their name.  

Often the media very much underestimates the crowd size or just does not cover the protests at all giving the impression that Americans agree with what their government is doing.

Also a lot of it, even we. the more informed, do not know about.  Finally, we are trapped in a two party system and political structure that does not easily allow for new, more honest people to get elected due to lack of media coverage, and party strongholds with the two party system and its own hold on politicians in that party.

On top of this, a growing number of people are starting to realize that despite almost total lack of media coverage that our votes do not count and that elections are rigged giving the power not by consent of the people to those who co-operate in passing laws etc with those in charge over them who bribe, blackmail, etc these representatives do vote as they are told. so without the vote of the [people counting (due to massive vote fraud) , it is hard to do anything.

Now they are working on taking away our rights to protest and working on things like dragonfly spy cameras and infiltrating groups to see what we are doing scaring people by putting us on lists and trying to develop things like microwave weapons to quickly disperse crowds even if they would gather whenever they like or feel the people might be worrisome to them.

I think they foresee a growing number of people will become outraged with time and start protesting and thus are trying to curtail our rights to protest and are trying to pass laws (which only 6 out of 450 something US Congressman voted against) like the homegrown terrorist act which will strip whoever they say of their rights as a citizen and even take away their citizenship and put them in jail with no representation etc.

It is an evil government in charge and most Americans feel helpless to do anything.  Groups like the world cant wait are trying hard to stop things you speak of.

I think also the system keeps people worried about supporting their families, keeping their jobs and thus keeps them preoccupied with surviving and this allows the government to get away with stuff more easily.  Also the poor quality of food and the poor education system keeps the people dumbed down.

Please, though, do not generalize that all Americans are like that. I know many individuals who work hard trying to change things and inform others, whop hate the things they see happening in our country, but we are just a drop in the bucket unfortunately.

Still, only 30% approve of the president and his actions..people are gradually starting to wake up.

Many things we do not know..people like Michael Moore help us to learn a lot in a single sitting even though the conservatives rag on him all the time.

Also the people who hate what the government does in our name are not as organized as those who want to do what they are doing for their own reasons.

TPTB have a tight knit group who cooperate and know how to keep things from getting out and push the government slowly to where they want it to go through bought off media outlets etc..while the average guy on the street is at a loss for what he can do.  It is complicated times we are facing..I think if we knew about the 90% of stuff they are doing that does not slip out, we would be outraged enough to do something.

If we are taking over by fascists which we are and may soon be, then the whole world will suffer and who will save us from these who showed in Iraq a display of weaponry that said try and stop us and this is what you will get too in essence.  God help us all, I foresee bad things coming on the world earth..
