Why do Americans bother debating Democrat v Republican its the same party?

There is no discussion of any other point of veiw in a country that has thrown its citizens overboard 30 years ago, why?

Another point - The right wing depends on most of the people feeling "What's the point of voting?" to win and thereby able to ignore most of the people in favor of the corporations and fat cats who are now running Washington and this country into the ground.

In 2000 Nader's negativity and fatalism was a part (not the main reason) of why Gore lost that election.  the result?  War!  Deaths of hundreds of thousands of people.  A massive debt that our great grandchildren will be paying.  

I agree both parties have strong similarities.  Until Obama came along the Democrats were not much more than Republican Lite.

Don't give up!  Obama promises Change.  We will elect him and then we must hold him to it.  I believe he will dohis best to take politics away from the fat cats and bring America back to the people where it belongs.  But it won't be done if we ALL don't work for it.

After eight years of Clinton (successful) and eight years of Bush (disastrous), only an idiot would think the parties are the same.

I haven't seen things split between Republicans & Democrats like this in a while as this election year is.

Weak Will Power of citizens when it comes to polls. Also another future problem could be a person goes to the polls with thought of change and then a shotgun is put in front of his face and there is a growl behind it and then the person says ''Vote My way.

Also the future may be not in The Republican or Democrat Parties but in that of First Nations and Non First Nations Alliance. Of course people I suppose have known this for some time. The reason Democrat and Republican parties are the focus has to do with conquering the other nations like Cherokee and others long ago. Now things are different and things can change as people are getting back what is theirs plus advantage against Globalization can be seen. This is best hope.
