Why do Americans debate Republican v Democrat it's the same political party?

In a country that offers 300 breakfast cereals why are there only 2 choices for president? And why do the people bother debating 2 sides of the same system that threw them overboard 30 years ago?

Democrats are strictly for what the constitution says and the Republicans are for it loosely, so things seem right, some things seem wrong. I agree with you though, most of the issues that they fight about today aren't even governed by the constitution in right or wrong... thats the main difference.
