Why do Americans no longer practice civil disobedience?

The Founding Fathers did it because of only a couple small taxes. Nowadays they would likely riot. What has happened?

There have been a couple marches in Seattle the past couple years that totally stopped traffic.

If Hillary gets elected and our taxes get jacked up, you'll see a lot of civil disobedience.

There has been many acts of civil disobedience in the U.S. in the last 10 years but many think that rioting is what they are supposed to do in this act.

Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Los Angles, and many other cities have acts of civil disobedience.

Because less civilians are correctly informed these days. Not many people even know how or whos side to pick.

The majority of people believe the givernment is realistically out of their control.

And if McCain gets elected, you will see my *** fighting the next draft... So dont count your eggs just yet.

Because it requires focus, patience and discipline. Traits sadly lacking in today's society.

For one thing, there have been marches and protests, but today's media won't cover most of it because the major media outlets have been aquired by large corporations which work hand in glove with the government which in turn gives these large corporations big benifits.

This is why you don't see or hear soldiers stories against the war in Iraq althougn there are so many they have formed their own groups (Look up Winter Soldiers)  THis is why we've been kept in the dark about the Bush administration's secret government.  THis is why we got caught with our pants down when the economic crunch hit.

Because when the media stops reporting things they think we shouldn't hear, that leaves out the things that we need to hear so that we can make our voices heard to help change them for the better.  That is DEMOCRACY when the people have a direct say in the workings of government.  We are loosing our democracy quickly.  The Bush "government' and the corporate media, will always say they want democracy, while they do everything to surpress it.

But as long as most people are fat and happy they don't care if they are free or not.  So we have drugs for the depressed, killer movies for the frustrated and Iraq for the armchair patriots.  But if this economy collapses - you can expect to see a lot of angry people to wake up and take it to the streets.  It could make 1968 look mild.  Stay tuned!
