Why do Americans refer to the most mundane things that eithier can be found virtually all around the world?

Because they don't travel, they have no idea how the rest of the world lives.I always get a chuckle when referring to Paris,they say Paris France.

Because whatever they are referring to is prominent in American culture probably, so they think of it as being "American".
